This page is committed to all things M:tG Commander, or EDH (Elder Dragon Highlander).
Magic players at Crimson Dragon Games have caught the EDH bug, so to provide more playing options we are starting this page.
We will be adding more features and variations as things progress.

The official rules for Commander can be found at:

Launch Party
June 18th, 2011

Starts: 1:00
Cost: $30.00

Join us for the release of Magic's latest multi-player format, Commander!!!

The casual format known as EDH (Elder Dragon Highlander) will get a new name. Wizards of the Coast will now recognize this format as Commander, and will celebrate the change with 5 new Commander decks, and a party as well.

Magic: The Gathering Commander is composed of five different hundred-card decks, with no card other than basic lands appearing more than once per deck. There are a total of 51 unique new Magic cards spread the five decks. These are real, black-bordered Magic cards that will be legal in Eternal formats (Vintage and Legacy) as well as casual games. Each deck will also include three premium foil oversized versions of legendary commander cards that can be used in lieu of the normal version, which also appear as regular cards in the deck.

The Magic: The Gathering Commander decks will each be three "wedge" colors with corresponding new commanders. "Wedge" is a term used to describe three-color combinations consisting of an allied pair and their shared enemy.

You can buy one of these decks and play it out of the box, or cannibalize it for your existing EDH decks. Sorry, that should now be "your existing Magic: The Gathering Commander decks."

Note: The 51 new cards will not be legal in Standard, Extended, or Block Constructed.

Commander - AG variation

Full credit for this variant of Commander/EDH goes to Armada Games in Temple Terrace, Florida.
Any changes or omissions are not to reflect on others who created this variation of the game.

Play structure, depending on number of players, will be pods of 4 or 5 players.

4-player pods will use a range of influence 1.
Range of influence works in the following fashion.  Each player can only affect the player to their immediate left and right. Any spell the active player casts will have no effect to the player that is opposite from him/her.  Range of influence is checked at the start of a players turn, so if the active player were to eliminate the player on his left he still wouldn't be able to see the opposite player until the start of the next players turn.

5-player pentagram will play with 2 allies and 2 enemies.
Pentagram works so that each player has 2 allies, the player directly to their left and to their right.  That player also has 2 enemies those are the player 2 to the left and 2 to the right.  Each player can only target their enemies with spells and abilities and cannot target their allies.  Global effects that don't target will affect each player at the table, whether ally or enemy (example Wrath of God destroys all creatures friend and foe.)  The game ends when 2 common enemies are eliminated regardless of points accrued.

Game rounds will be 60 minutes, with a 10 minute warning for time.

Winner of each pod/round will be determined by the following 2 conditions:

1st condition:   Last player remaining in pod, all other players having been defeated.

2nd condition:  If 2 (or more) players remain after time is called,  the winner will be  the player who has the greatest number of achievement award points.

Winner of the event will be based on the number of rounds won. In the event of a tie for wins, tiebreakers will be based on the greatest number of achievement points accumulated.
